Girls Everywhere Meeting the Saviour

GEMS Girls' Club is an international, relationship-building, small-group program offered through our church. Our goal is to help bring girls into a living, dynamic, relationship with Jesus Christ.

At GEMS we:

  • get to know Jesus
  • enjoy singing and creative movement
  • study the Bible
  • make lasting friendships
  • play games
  • do fun crafts for ourselves and others

GEMS is for girls in Grades 1-8 and we meet Monday nights at 6:30PM from September to April.

Dues are $50/girl or $75/family (the family rate also includes any brothers registering for the Cadets program). This fee covers one badge book, scarf, badges, tie slide and all lesson and craft materials. Our uniform is a t-shirt available through GEMS at a cost of $20.

Sponsorships for dues are available, so please don't hesitate to ask.

* We are a peanut aware facility. To reduce the risk of exposure to those with an allergy, all peanut and products that may contain peanuts, peanut oils, and/or peanut by-products are strictly discouraged. Because we are a nut aware facility and not nut free zone, we cannot guarantee that peanuts or peanut by-products have not been present in our facilty. Please use caution.

Sunday School

Dedicated teachers lead our weekly Sunday School program to students ages 5-11. Younger siblings can visit our supervised nursery that is also available weekly for children 4 and under. We are a nut sensitive* facility with special considerations for students with various food and environmental allergies.

All Sunday School leaders are professing members of Essex CRC using curriculum choices overseen by our Education and Outreach committee.

Students join their parents for the first part of the 10am service, then leave for Sunday School after Children's Moment. Splitting off into appropriate groups, the students are taught seasonal curriculum mostly taken from CRC's Faith Alive Christian Resources. Faith Alive focuses on thoughtful questions, prayer and Bible Study in order to bring the student into a relationship with Jesus Christ. Special programming exists during the summer, Advent, and Easter seasons. Regularly, throughout the year, the Sunday School participates during service time for special events. Our own collection supports a school and minstry in Nairobi, Kenya.

At Essex CRC, our Sunday School balances personal relationships, creativity, fun activities and games with a Christ centered education.
